Meet the Trainers
Malachi Simmons
Founder & CEO
He built Skyline K9 on three things: high standards, honest work, and results that hold up in the real world.
Malachi has loved dogs since he was a kid. He grew up alongside a Boston Terrier, and that dog taught him something he’s never let go of: a dog never lies, never cheats, never steals, and to that dog, its owner is everything. Learning how to love a dog well, and learning that a dog is something you can depend on through every season of life, set the direction for everything that came after.
Before founding Skyline K9, Malachi worked for several dog training companies, learning the craft from the ground up and refining it into a standard of his own. He had always wanted to build something for himself. He cut grass, walked dogs, and took on whatever work was in front of him, all of it in service of building something bigger than himself. In 2024 that vision became Skyline K9: a premium dog training company built to set families up for long-term success, run on Christian values, honesty, and integrity. He went on to earn his Shield K9 certification and hasn’t slowed down since.
Skyline K9’s goal was never to be just a dog training company. Malachi’s mission is to build a company that transforms families, one dog and one household at a time. God has blessed this work beyond what he could have planned, and every bit of the credit belongs to Him. More than anything else, Malachi is a proud husband and a proud Christian, and he gives all glory to God.

Landon Herod
Landon has loved dogs for as long as he can remember.
He spent his early childhood asking for one until his parents finally said yes, and the dog they brought home was a Yorkie carrying serious trauma. Working with that dog taught him young what most people never learn: how to actually communicate with a dog rather than just talk at one.
Not long after came a bulldog with anxiety of his own, and that one called for professional help. The family sent him out for training, and when he came home Landon got his first real look at e-collar work and what genuine, reliable obedience looks like. He kept the work going himself, sharpening his skills every day with that dog. The moment he was old enough, he started training professionally, and he hasn’t stopped since.
Today, Landon leads the training floor as a Skyline K9 Certified Trainer. The dogs he came up with shaped the work he’s drawn to most: anxious dogs, fearful dogs, and dogs carrying trauma from a rough start. He has a particular patience for the ones who need time before they’ll trust anybody, and a track record of getting them to the other side of it.
